Join the PTA
Purchasing a membership to join the PTA comes with no commitments or expectations. The PTA’s mission is “to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children”. Members are parents, teachers, staff, and other significant adults in the lives of our children. We hope that at least one adult from each SHES family will consider becoming a member.
Becoming a PTA member comes with some additional money-saving benefits to you. Whether you’re buying school supplies for the kids or renting a car for your next family vacation, PTA members can save money on everyday purchases thanks to National PTA’s Member Benefits Provider Program.
SHES has a strong tradition of membership from its parents, teachers and staff. Joining the PTA does not commit you to volunteer time. Your membership simply means that you support our efforts and our goals.
Where your dues go
Each SHES PTA membership is $15 (or 2 SHES memberships for $25) or $10 for Teachers/Administrators. Annually, we remit $3.75 of each membership as dues to the National ($2.25) and State ($1.50) PTAs.
Everyone is welcome
Even if you choose not to joint the PTA with a paid membership we would still love to have you join us at our many meetings and events. You can still volunteer and attend PTA meetings which helps build the Sleepy Hollow Elementary School community. If you are not a paid member you will not have voting privileges at our general meetings however your voice and ideas are still welcome. We have many opportunities to get involved and greatly appreciate your support.
